Dear La Vu, Please Take Action: Tell New York's Senate candidates to put safer chemicals on their agenda. The numbers are in. The chemical lobby has spent millions in this election to back candidates for Congress that it hopes will maintain the status quo. Yet every day, American families are exposed to toxic chemicals like lead, cadmium, and formaldehyde often through consumer products in our homes. Take Action: Tell New York's Senate candidates that you want increased oversight of toxic chemicals. More Information The current Toxic Substances Control Act has not been updated since 1976. As a result, it is woefully out of date, and dangerously weak. Environmental Defense Action Fund has joined with the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families coalition which represents over 11 million individuals to call for critical reforms to TSCA. Together, we are asking that TSCA reform: Take immediate action on the most dangerous chemicals. Hold the industry responsible for the safety of their chemicals and products. Use the best science to protect all people and vulnerable groups like children, pregnant women, and workers.
